HORSSEN P VAN (2007) Will Dutch Ravens Corvus corax return to breeding in heronries?. LIMOSA 80 (1): 32-34.

In 2006, two breeding attempts of Ravens were found in active heronries of Grey Herons in half-open agricultural areas in The Netherlands. One breeding attempt failed during the egg-phase, while the other probably failed when the youngwere quite large. Breeding outside large coniferous forests is rare in The Netherlands, with only two known previous cases in the last 25 years. Moreover, breeding in active heronries in The Netherlands has not been recorded since the late twenties of the 20th century. Due to a high probability of human disturbance, the perspectives for Ravens in this type of habitat are not very good at the moment.
