Call: The Curlew in the inland In winter 1980/81, the Dutch Working Group Stiltwalker up. This working group is, inter one purpose of the study of waders in the Netherlands to coordinate and organize. There are three distinct areas: Wadden Sea, Delta area and inland. While in recent years the focus of the study in the inland has been on preventing the Golden Plover, it was decided to focus in the next few years to shift to the Curlew, where in 1982 the focus will be on identifying and counting beds.
