Wageningen is chosen as the new place of Wetlands International (WI). WI, internationally The main organization that deals with the protection of wetlands, was founded in October 1995 the integration of the International Waterfowl Research Office (IWRB), the Asian Wetland Bureau (AWB) and Wetlands for the Americas (WA). the IWRB organized including global counts of waterfowl, published about it and was involved in protective actions.
