PRINS TG & PURVIS RM (1996) Short contributions: Remarkable behavior of Hen Harrier Circus cyaneus. LIMOSA 69 (1): 23-23.

A remarkable behaviour of an adult male Hen Harrier Circus cyaneus was observed on a field near De Koog, on the island of Texel on 3 November 1995. The bird flew low over the field, grasping clumps of grass, left behind after a ditch had been cleaned. It dropped the clump, alighted immediately and inspected the place where it had removed the clump of grass. The bird repeated this behaviour during the Coo 15 minutes of observation. We did not see the bird grasping or catching anything. Reference to this type of behaviour was not found in literature
