MEIJER R (1991) Short contributions: Climax of Bluethroats Luscinia svecica cyanecula in Biesbosch passed?. LIMOSA 64 (3): 113-114.

The population trend of the Bluethroat in the Biesbosch during the last few years is described. From 1987 onwards the population is slightly declining (fig. 1), but the decline in population growth began much earlier (fig. 2). It is discussed that the main cause is succession in the vegetation and that this decline will continue until an estimated number of a good 1000 breeding pairs has been reached.
