DRAAIJER LJ (1990) Short announcements: Peculiar hunting method of Goshawk Accipiter gentilis. LIMOSA 63 (4): 162-162.

A female Goshawk was observed in an open grassland area in the province of Ge1derland on 2 May 1989. The bird was apparently searching for prey from poles and fences, dropping to the ground every now and then and sometimes walking or fluttering over small distances. No catch of prey was witnessed. The presence of the Goshawk did not elicit panick among Lapwings, Black-tailed Godwits and Oystercatchers, indicating habituation to the Goshawk's harmless behaviour. Goshawk Accipiter gentilis
