This paper presents the results of yearly counts of breeding Avocet Recurvirostra avosetta, plovers Charadrius spp., and terns Sterna spp. in the Delta area, SW. Netherlands in 1979-85. Despite the drastic changes in the area due to the execution of the Delta Project, the populations of the species discussed maintain well.
