VELDKAMP R (1985) Short contributions: Breeding attempt of Black Kite Milvus migrans in NW. Overijssel. LIMOSA 58 (3): 122-122.

Black Kite Milvus migrans In May 1984 a couple of Black Kites was discovered in a marshy area in the province of Overijssel. The nest, which in the previous year was occupied by a pair of Buzzards Buteo buteo, contained three eggs on 14 May. On 6 June the nest was empty, probably as a result of predation. This first proved breeding attempt for the Netherlands fits the tendency of Black Kites to increase and spread in West-Germany, Belgium, and France.
