To increase the interest for the birds in the Far East and their protection work has recently Oriental Bird Club was formed. The area extends out from Pakistan in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east and China in the north to Indonesia in the south. There are over 2000 species of birds for many of which are threatened by habitat loss. Members receive twice the pe ~ year Bulletin (with short messages, news, book reviews and literature reviews) and the magazine The Forktail.
