Ruff Philomachus pugnax On 29 April 1981 a female Ruff (tufts lacking) was trapped with an extremely long wing of 177 mm and a bill length of 33.8 mm (ef. tab. 1). This wing length is well outside the range given by Prater et al. (1977) and Prater (1982).
