On 21 August 1982 a very high number of Sanderlings was counted on the western part of the Waddenzeeisland Ameland. On c. 30% of the beach 2000 Sanderlings were recorded. The peak number for August was 240 and the highest numbers (1030) were recorded in October.Sanderling Calidris alba
