Observers aboard ships from the Dutch again
1959 bird observations made. This article describes the data
country and coastal birds are summarized and discussed. In comparison
is also an overview of published observations on
board British ships enNoorse again.
The observation intensity is shown in Tables 2 and 3. table 4
lists aile established species. In Figures 4 to 10, the distribution over the years shown. The distribution of the ruling
directions can be found in Figure 3.
Seven species are discussed in somewhat greater detail. For five of them,
Stone Runner, Meadow Pipit, Wheatear, Redwing and Snow Bunting are one or
more weather stations on the normal migration route. The Swallow with
especially in spring often seen far out to sea. It is known that these
small number of annual species breeds in Iceland. The Starling is particularly numerous
M at the weather station, near the Norwegian coast. Also on the station J,
West of Ireland, Starlings are frequently seen, but only in
the autumn. At the southernmost station Kilo are often
Turtledoves. Perhaps it indicates a tendency from England
directly to the south to fly. Valke.n are much more middle
observed sea than other raptors
