Zitting Cisticola Cisticola juncidis A breeding case of a Fan-tailed Warbler Cisticolajuncidis in the IJsselmeerpolders in the Netherlands in 1976 has been described. It is the first observed succesfull breeding case in the Netherlands. This agrees with the recent northward expansion of the species' breeding range. Hatching was extremely late, namely between I and 6 October. The nest with two eggs is now in the collection of the Zoological Museum in Amsterdam
