MEININGER PL (1977) Pomarine Skua Stercorarius pomarinus taking Black-headed Gulls Larus ridibundus. LIMOSA 50 (3): 145-145.

From 28 September until 15 October 1976 a juvenile Pomarine Skua Stercorarius pomarinus was seen near Leidschendam (Zuid-Holland), some 12 kilometres from the coast During its stay the skua daily killed one to three Black-headed Gulls Larus ridibundus by drowning its victims. On 26 September 1976 a Pomarine Skua was seen near Cap Gris-Nez (France), killing a Kittiwake Rissa tridactyla by the same method Pomarine Jaeger Stercorarius pomarinus Black-headed Gull Chroicocephalus ridibundus = Larus ridibundus
