Fieldrecords are given of observations of a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper Calidris acuminata on Texel, 22 September 1974 and a Pectoral Sandpiper C. melanotos near Amsterdam, 29September 1974. They are respectively the third and the eighth accepted records of these species in the Netherlands. A comparison between the field characters is made and the origin of these birds is also discussed Sharp-tailed Sandpiper Calidris acuminata Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos
