XVII International Ornithological Congress On the occasion of the XVI International Congress in Canberra the International Ornithological Committee accepted the invitation of the Deutsche Ornithologen- Gesellschaft to hold the XVII Congress in Germany, It elected Professor Donald S. Farner (Seattle) as president of the Congress. In consultation with the President the German members of the International Ornithological Committee decided to hold the Congress in the Kongresshalle in Berlin (West) from June 4-11, 1978; Mr. Rolf Nohring of the Berlin Zoological Garden was designated as Secretary-General.
