JOOSTEN T, BULT W & HUSTINGS F (1976) A failed breedingcattempt of the Penduline Tit in The Netherlands. LIMOSA 49 (3): 218-218.

Eurasian Penduline Tit Remiz pendulinus After a find of a not-completed nest in the nature-reserve De Biesbosch in the province of Noord-Brabant in 1962, without the birds having been observed, a pair of Penduline Tits built a nest in the south of our province of Limburg in 1975. From April 24th onwards the birds were present, singing and building, but on May 8th they deserted the empty nest; the cause is unknown. After 1962 - for the first time - there were records and trapped birds in the following years: 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1973 and 1974. On July 31st 19743 juvenile birds were ringed near Elburg, Oostelijk Flevoland, so that it may be expected that we have not to wait very long for the first accepted breeding case of this species in the Netherlands.
