In 1974 a nest of a Golden Plover was found on a dry heather near Budel in the southeastern part of Brabant. This is a rather unique fact, as no nests were recorded in the Netherlands since 1937. The nest contained 4 eggs (9 June) and apparently was successful European Golden Plover Pluvialis apricaria
