On 6 and 7 October 1973 a female Stonechat Saxieola torquata showing the characters of S. t. maura (ef Witherby et al. 1952: plate 47) has been observed and photographed on the island of Texel. It represents the 1st record of S. t. maura in the Netherlands Siberian Stonechat Saxicola maurus = Saxicola torquata maura
