ROSELAAR CS (1975) A find of a yellow-legged Bewick. LIMOSA 48 (3): 202-202.

Bewick's Swan Cygnus bewickii A leucistic adult 'i? Bewick's Swan was found dead 5 January 1974 at Dodewaard, Netherlands. This swan was apparently very similar to a bird observed at Welney, Norfolk, England in the winter 1971/72 ~accompanying Needham), and again in the winter 1972/73 at the ,same place (Evans & Lebret 1973). These probably all involved the same bird. A short explanation is given for the higher chance of a 'i? to be leucistic. The known leucistic specimens of Bewick's Swans and their variations are listed. The variation is probably constant throughout life and supposed to be caused by modifying genes rather than a gradual change in pigmentation through the years, as far as adults are concerned
