STEL H (1975) Short announcements: Alpine Swift Apus melba in the Netherlands. LIMOSA 48 (1): 120-120.

Alpine Swift Tachymarptis melba On September 24th 1974 a first-year Alpine Smift Apus melba was found alive on a balcony of the 11th floor of a flat at Veenendaal, in the province of Utrecht. The bird died in a bird-hostel on October 1st 1974. This is the second specimen collected in the Netherlands since 1824. Besides 3 nonconfirmed records there is only one confirmed sight-record: April 30th 1973 Wassenaar (not yet published).
