ENGELEN GD & DIJK CHJ VAN (1974) Short announcements: Short-toed Lark Calandrella brachydactyla new to the Dutch list. LIMOSA 47 (3): 157-157.

Greater Short-toed Lark Calandrella brachydactyla On October 26th 1973 a specimen of the Short-toed Lark Calandrella brachydactyla was trapped, ringed, measured, described, photographed in black and white and in colour in the dunes of Monster, SW of The Hague, in the province of Zuid-HoIIand. According to the buff-brown, dark streaked upperparts-not rufous-and the dark brown stripes on the crown, the rounded, dark and buffish-white 1st primary, the bird was a juvenile of the mediterranean form brachydactyla. Accepted by the Dutch Avifaunistic Committee a confirmed record, however subspecies uncertain, probably brachydactyla: skin comparison, needed in this case, was impossible.
