MEETH P (1972) Short announcements: Observation of a Slender-billed Curlew Numenius tenuirostris. LIMOSA 45 (3): 182-182.

A Slender-billed Curlew Numenius tenuirostris was observed on December 8, 1968 in the Province of North-Holland. This is the 6th record for the Netherlands. A review is given of the known breeding ranges as well as the wintering territories. It is apparent that the Slender-billed Curlew is becoming such a rare species that there is every reason to believe that its existence might be in danger Slender-billed Curlew Numenius tenuirostris
