SWELM ND VAN (1972) Short announcements: New observation of the Baikal Teal in the Netherlands. LIMOSA 45 (3): 176-176.

A Baikal Teal Anas formosa Georgi in eclipse was observed on 12th August 1971 in a dune-area south of The Hague in the province of Zuid-Holland. On 28th August one of the observers noticed that the bird was a male as its winter-plumage emerged. Until now this species was recorded 9 times in the Netherlands. It has only once been observed, 10 individuals were shot or otherwise killed. Baikal Teal Anas formosa
