BEINTEMA AJ & WATTEL J (1970) A dutch record of Balearic Shearwater Puffinus puffinus mauretanicus or Puffinus mauretanicus. LIMOSA 43 (3): 136-136.

On 18 October 1958 a specimen of Puffinus puffinus was found dead on the beach at Renesse, island of Schouwen-Duive1and. The specimen, a female, is preserved in the Zoologisch Museum Amsterdam, colI. nr. ZMA 14.505. Comparison with material from various collections showed, that it belongs to the West-Mediterranean subspecies Puffinus puffinus mauretanicus Lowe. It represents the third Dutch record of this race Manx Shearwater Balearic Shearwater Puffinus mauretanicus = Puffinus puffinus mauretanicus
