HOEKSTRA B (1960) Short contributions: Sudden death of a flying Common Chaffinch Fringilla coelebs. LIMOSA 33 (1): 58-58.

In Limosa 32. p. 170-171 the sudden death of a flying male of a Gay was described. In that case it was stated by section that the death had been caused by haemorrhage of the brains. Above the death of a flying male of the Chaffinch is mentioned. In both cases the birds were externally in good condition. This time however a post morteminqUiry was unfortunately not made.
