European Honey Buzzard Pernis apivorus A Honey Buzzard with aberrant tail-pattern A stuffed specimen of the Honey Buzzard in przsumably first year's plumage did not show the normal tail-pattern, pictured in many bird-books, but it had somewhat blurred, small dark bands at regular distances of each other, nearly as wide as the bands themselves, as described by MUNCH and STRESEMANN (I.e. in the Dutch text). According to the writer some care with determination in the field only on the tail-pattern may be advisable
